Class Description: Presented by: Nevada Division of Forestry in collaboration with University of Nevada Cooperative Extension. Instructor: Gale Durham, Nevada Division of Forestry Forest Health Specialist.

Join us for a hands-on session on the identification of spring weeds. You’ll learn practical ways to identify some of the weeds likely to evoke Bark Beetle Infestations– Are your trees at risk? During fires, trees become stressed and more susceptible to attack by bark beetles. Bark beetle populations rise dramatically when there are large numbers of stressed trees. This workshop will teach you how to determine which of your trees are at risk and how to prevent and identify bark beetles and the physical and fungal damage they cause.

Participants may attend in our Western Area/Washoe County office (4955 Energy Way in Reno) to view the presentation live. Attendees may participate in the presentation via videoconference at our Carson City/Storey County office (2621 Northgate Ln., Ste. 15 in Carson City) or our Douglas County Office (1329 Waterloo Ln. in Gardnerville).
