City of Sparks Asks Residents to Rake Leaves to Avoid Flooding

Whether you consider it a tiresome chore, a cheerful outdoor activity or a great way to torch some calories, one thing is for certain — raking and bagging dead leaves is key to keeping Sparks streets free from flooding.

“It’s important to rake, bag and remove dead leaves,” said Dan Hamlin, maintenance operations manager for the City of Sparks. “That way, when it rains our streets and intersections won’t flood.”
